A SHIP’S doctor has died in Western Australia after eating blowfish, a delicacy that can prove fatal if not prepared properly.

Authorities were called to an iron ore ship off Dampier early on Saturday after a 43-year-old Chinese man suffered paralysis and his breathing became laboured.

“We did a co-ordinated rescue effort through Australian Search and Rescue,” said Acting Sergeant Chris Hinch. Read more

A man who took his mistress to the beach made the mistake of waving to a film crew on a helicopter covering Italy’s bicycle race and was discovered by his wife.

According to media reports, the man was with his younger mistress on a beach in northern Italy when the helicopter passed overhead with a crew covering the Giro d’Italia cycling classic.

The man waved, the camera zoomed in, and the couple ended up on live television.

The brother of the man’s wife thought it was his sister he was seeing on television and called her on her mobile phone, sure that it was she on the beach with her husband. Read more

German man found after 7 years dead in bed

The decomposed corpse of a German man was found alone in his bed after nearly seven years, police in the western city of Essen said Thursday.

The police said in a statement the man was 59 and unemployed at the time of his death. He most likely died of natural causes on November 30, 2000, the date he received a letter from the Welfare Office found in the apartment, police said. Read more

A CHURCH organist, found dead in a huge plastic bag attached to a vacuum cleaner, was possibly carrying out a bizarre sex act, an inquest was told.

Teesside Coroner’s Court heard how Ian Kemp, 48, was found at home naked, with his hands and feet bound, inside the bag.

Coroner Michael Sheffield told an inquest there were no indications he had intended to die and that the vacuum had sucked all of the air out of the bag. Read more
