Suspect Who Raped 85-Year-Old Woman At Large

(CBS) VAN NUYS, Calif. A suspect who broke into an 85-year-old woman’s home in Van Nuys and sexually assaulted her remained at large Thursday, and police Thursday released a composite sketch in hopes that someone will recognize him.

The suspect gained entry to the home through a rear window and assaulted the victim in her bedroom about 11 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

The woman was treated at a hospital for minor lacerations and bruises, according to an LAPD statement.

The suspect is described as being a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with “USA” across the front, authorities said.
