On duty cop rapes man in the park

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The lawyer for a Philadelphia police officer accused of sexually assaulting a man says the Police Department’s account of events isn’t completely accurate.
Police say 40-year-old Officer Michael Paige pulled over a car in Fairmount Park on March 16th. Police say he then took one of car’s two male occupants to a secluded area of the park and had “non-consensual sexual activity” with him.
But Paige’s lawyer says the two men were allowed to drive away after being pulled over. He says the accuser dropped off his passenger and then returned to the park looking for Paige.
Paige is charged with involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint and other offenses. He’s been suspended from the force with intent to dismiss.
