Mosnews reported that an 18-year old youth in the Northern Russian region of Karelia has stabbed to death his grandmother after an argument over the choice of television channel, the Interfax news agency reported on Friday.

The agency quoted regional prosecutors as saying that the incident took place in the village of Nadvoitsy of Senezh District. The 81-year old woman was stabbed many times and died on the spot. The grandson then went to the neighbor’s house and said that he had just committed a murder. Read more

Teenager kills mother, injures others w/ SWORD before police shoot him

Startribune reported that police are trying to figure out why a sword wielding teenager killed his mother and injured three others Friday before being gunned down by officers.

“We don’t have any background or any events leading up to the assault this morning that would give any indication of a motive,” Huron Police Chief Doug Schmitt said Friday.

When officers arrived at the home just before 6 a.m., they found the attacker’s 14-year-old sister, Rebekah Gilchrist, with several cuts to her lower arms and hands. Read more

Doctor jailed for raping his unconscious wife

The australian newspaper ‘Sydney Morning Herald’ reported that an Adelaide doctor who repeatedly raped his wife while she was unconscious on sleeping pills has been jailed for 10 years.

The pathologist, who can’t be named, stored photographs of his crimes on his computer, the South Australian District Court was told.

Some photographs were of him using foreign objects during anal and vaginal rapes, the court heard.

District Court Judge Marie Shaw today jailed the man for 10 years with a non-parole period of six years. Read more

AP reported that a Jordanian man fatally shot his 17-year-old daughter whom he suspected of having sex despite a medical exam that proved her chastity, an official said Thursday. The man surrendered to police hours after the killing, saying he had done it for family honor.

A state forensic pathologist, who works at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Amman where an autopsy was performed, said in a phone interview that the girl had run away from home several times for unknown reasons.

Weeks ago, the girl had returned home from a family protection clinic after doctors had vouched for her virginity and the father had signed a pledge not to harm her, the pathologist said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case. Read more

Former Warren County school teacher Pamela Rogers pleaded guilty this morning to two additional charges accusing her of sending explicit pictures to a 13-year-old boy who she had previously been convicted of having a sexual relationship with.

Rogers, 29, pleaded guilty two counts of solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor for sending nude photos to the boy while she was out of jail on probation.
