Chili's Manager Luis Monroy Killed By Customer Michael Hare

Chili menu,Chili restaurant and Chilis to go have been in the news lately but not for the reason you would think.Chili’s manager Luis Monroy made headlines as he was killed while protecting a co-worker on Thursday night,at 9350 North Sam Houston Parkway East in Texas.Michael Hare who was asked to leave after disrespecting a female employee shot and killed Luis Monroy in the parking lot of the Chili’s restaurant.Investigators say:

A rejected Hare left the restaurant,at about 11:20 p.m., Hare returned with a gun and fired several rounds at Monroy.The man fled as the 32-year-old Monroy lay dead in the restaurant’s parking lot.

Hare is currently in prison and the restaurant was expected to reopen today.You can watch a video that features the story after the jump.

Sgt. Jill Stevens has a new assignment: Miss Utah.
Stevens, a medic in the Utah National Guard who spent 18 months in Afghanistan, was crowned Saturday night at the Capitol Theatre and will represent the state at the Miss America pageant.
“These are some stellar girls,” Stevens said of the field of 50. “I did my best, but I left it in the Lord’s hands.” Read more

STAMFORD, Conn., July 1 (UPI) –  A Connecticut man is being questioned for allegedly posting a notice about wrestler Chris Benoit’s wife’s death on Wikipedia hours before her body was found.

Authorities say the unidentified man posted information on the Internet site last week about the death of Nancy Benoit allegedly at the hands of the WWE wrestler, the New York Daily New said Sunday. Read more

Muskegon Heights mom sent to prison in sex contract case

MUSKEGON — A Muskegon Heights woman was sentenced Monday to 12 to 22 1/2 years in prison after authorities said she used a written contract to arrange for her 15-year-old daughter to have sex with the woman’s boyfriend for two months while she recuperated from abdominal surgery.

The 41-year-old woman, whom the Associated Press is not identifying to protect her daughter’s identity, in April pleaded no contest in Muskegon County Circuit Court to three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but judges treat it as a guilty plea at sentencing. Read more

Exactly how many calories are in that double cheeseburger or those fries? Some say we should know the calorie count so we can make healthy choices.
But how we get that information has led to an all out war between fast food restaurants and the City of New York.

The biggest hit on the Web yesterday was a video of a busty woman writhing around in a bikini next to a poster of a bare-chested Sen. Barack Obama and singing a catchy pop song about her love for the presidential candidate.

Wisconsin’s home to Johnny Lechner, the notorious college student who has yet to graduate after 13 years.

We’ve got Chirag Shah.

Shah breezed through his studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago in just a year and a half. And he got a 3.9 GPA on barely an hour a day of studying.

The 19-year-old explained that college mostly seemed like a “review” from his days at Barrington High School, where he took so many advanced courses, he was able to start as a junior at UIC. Read more

Senate Judiciary Committee Votes to Restore Habeus Corpus

WASHINGTON, June 7 (UPI) — The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday approved the Habeas Corpus Restoration Act, which would repeal part of last year’s Military Commissions Act.

The committee voted 11-8, with one Republican vote in favor, to send the bill to the Senate floor for a vote. Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., the ranking member and former chairman of the committee, co-sponsored the measure with Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., the current chairman. Read more
